The trial of Ryan Willicombe, who stands accused of murdering Tilehurst youth Sheldon Lewcock by running him down with a van, has been adjourned until next week.
Jurors in the case were sent home this afternoon (April 25), to allow for the barristers to present legal arguments at Reading Crown Court.
Mr Lewcock, 19, was hit by a van in Pierces Hill, Tilehurst, on August 4, 2022.
He died at John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford five days later.
The youth was out motorcycling with a group, and the prosecution in the case allege that Willicombe intentionally drove his father's van into the teens.
This allegedly followed a dispute between the defendant and the group.
Willicombe - a 19-year-old from Newbury - denies the charge of murder.
He told the court he did not intend to hit anyone on the day of the incident.
The trial has been running for around a fortnight.
Judge Heather Norton has said proceedings will resume on April 29.
On that day, lawyers for both the defence and the prosecution are expected to make closing speeches.
